A caricature makes a fantastic and unique gift for any occasion. And whether it is for an individual or to entertain your guests at a live event everyone gets a special gift that will last them a lifetime.
Commission work is done in my home studio located in Marlborough, MA. High quality, close up pictures of the subject should be provided as it gives a good representation of the subject. The better the photo the better the likeness.
What I need from you are
At least three recent, close up photos showing the subject's face at different angles. Depending on the theme (humorous, serious, scary, etc.) nice, clear facial expressions are a must as well and I will keep in frequent contact throughout the process in case there are any questions.
How long does it take
The caricature can take anywhere from ten days to two weeks depending on the number of people and theme items requested. Please consider commissioning gift caricatures at least two or more weeks in advance to ensure delivery within your time frame. Caricature is a timely process and studio pieces should not be rushed. Should you have need of a "rushed" piece (within 24 - 48 hours) there will be an increase in the fee. The creative process will be a collaborative one and your satisfaction is my ultimate goal.
Caricatures can be any size. Anything larger than A3 size (11"x17") can be arranged to be printed. When you email me I will send you a quote for the size and subject matter. Gift caricatures are of the highest quality and will be colored digitally to enhance the artwork.

Commission prices can start from $50* for smaller caricatures to $250 (or more) for larger works and can be customized to accommodate a budget.
*Standard charges are for a single person drawn with one theme/activity. Multiple persons, items, activities, etc. will incur extra charges. We will discuss your needs and the ideal composition that will please you and the subject.
How much do I charge for live caricature entertainment?
For live events I charge $125 per hour for events lasting three hours or longer. For events less than three hours the charge is $150 per hour. Caricatures are black and white and are done on 8.5" x 11" paper for individuals and 9" x 12" for more than one person. If you'd like them in color more time will probably be needed as these take a bit longer to render.
I am able to draw 10-12 caricatures per hour consistently (7-10 if color). If you have a very large event please keep this in mind. Additional artists can be added with enough notice (at least 4-6 weeks at a minimum).
For events greater than 30 miles from the Marlborough area additional travel fees will be incurred and any event greater than 50 miles may possibly require lodging for the night depending on the time of the event and the season (e.g. winter). If inclement weather is expected lodging may be required for safety of the artist(s).

I offer private and group lessons teaching the basics of drawing a body and cover a variety of areas from the comic book genre and caricature or drawing in general.
